OUR ORIGIN
A journey that began in Budaun in 1982.
Shakuntalam Impex Pvt. Ltd. (Formerly DEEKAY EXPORTS) traces its origins to 1982, when Late Mr. D.K. Agarwal moved to the small town of Budaun in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Prior to 1982, Mr. Agarwal worked for Richardson Hindustan Ltd., now Procter & Gamble, for 12 years, helping expand mint cultivation in the tarai region of Uttar Pradesh. The modest operation started by supplying mint oils to domestic F&F companies in Delhi, Calcutta, and Mumbai before gradually expanding into international markets in the mid-1990s.
Over the last two decades, the company has continued to grow in the Indian market while becoming a premium supplier of peppermint and spearmint oils on the world stage.
